During the holidays, Ned, an overly caring but loving father, visits his daughter with his family in college, where he meets the worst nightmare of his life - daughter's boyfriend Laird, a well-meaning but awkward in communication billionaire from Silicon Valley. Puritan Ned considers the laird without brakes to be an absolutely unsuitable match for his daughter. The tension in this one-sided confrontation - and thus the degree of Ned's panic - grows as he increasingly feels like a "black sheep" in the glamorous high-tech crowd. So he also learns that the Laird is going to offer his daughter a hand and a heart. But Ned such news only amuses, and he is not going to bless the couple for marriage.
