Director: Irena Stetsenko / Synopsis: At the dressing room of the famous Dakh theatre in Kyiv, seven female artists conceived a Dakh Daughters Freak-Cabaret Band project. Their first stage show called “Roses” has presented a modern take on a fascinating art of cabaret, which in its absolute carnival freedom has power to entertain the public with the dead serious topics. At this very time, there comes a pivotal moment in the history of their country, which marks the beginning of the era of significant changes, both in the society and in the consciousness of thousands of people. The Maidan Revolution of 2014 and the subsequent war open up the characters of our heroines, allowing us inside their internal journey as citizens, humans and artists. Power of shared emotions of these turbulent times allows a deep and sincere connection both with themselves and with the audience.
