Twelve Chairs
Ostap Bender and Ippolit Matveyevich Vorobyaninov are on the hunt for family jewels hidden by Vorobyaninov's late mother-in-law in one of the chairs from a dining set. Simultaneously, Father Fyodor also seeks the treasure, having learned of the secret during a confession.
The story of two con artists on a quest for Madame Petukhova's diamonds continues to captivate readers and audiences to this day. The name of Ostap Bender, the "great schemer," has become iconic, and the novel has been adapted into hundreds of successful editions and stage adaptations.
